Feeling Warm and Dry This Winter
Having the right gear or outerwear for winter is so key to being able to enjoy it. After all, we live in Canada, so we might as well get used to the cold and embrace it! Check these vendors out below as a sampling of some that sell Canadian-made outerwear and gear.
And remember to try to support your local stores first!
Locally-Owned Boutique Stores
- Bib & Tucker (Quinpool Rd) - STONZ outdoor booties for infants, as well as “Bisous” Baby Sleepsacks from la Maison Benoit, Vancouver, BC.
- Love and Care (Farmer’s Market) – Hand-made and lined baby overalls
- The Trail Shop acts as a gateway to appreciating what our beautiful blue planet has to offer. Locally owned since inception, they are committed to supporting community and providing the gear required to keep you comfortable this winter and through the year. - Arcteryx, Canada Goose and Tilley
- Trail Blazer saws & knives or Grohmann knives
- Beluga paddling products or Red Lake canoes (made in Nova Scotia)
Canadian-Owned Chains
- MEC: They don’t usually need an introduction, but the fact only some of their clothing is made in Canada may. Be sure to check the tags or ask which items are Canadian-made.
- Running Room: Running room proudly manufactures most all of its Fit Wear line of clothing right here in Canada. Made for runners by runners, you will be sure to enjoy wearing it… maybe even at one of the Running Room’s Clinics.
- We encourage you to shop local first! But whether you are in a local store or a major conglomerate, be sure to ask for local or Canadian-made products first.
