Feeling the Love for Valentine's Day
Try doing something special for your loved-one or to show someone you care, instead of buying a gift.
Give love… to family, to friends and to people in need!
Family & Friends
Say “I love you” with time:
- a phone call or a conversation
- spending the time doing anything… together
Say “I love you” with initiative:
- take on a task for someone
- help someone find the solution to a problem
- lighten someone’s load
Say “I love you” with actions:
- cook someone dinner
- make breakfast in bed
- give a massage… OK we’ll stop there and let you imagine the rest!
But saying “I love you” is harder than it sounds in some cases… like if it’s new love; or old love that’s strained; or even to your parents or siblings if that’s not something you’re used to telling them.
Work on keeping that home-fire burning! With our 24x7 lives being as busy as they are and divorce statistics as high as they are these days, it’s important to put our loved-ones first.
And don’t be shy to seek a little “conciliatory help” if there are issues you and your partner need help resolving. The balance of happiness, love, good communication and compromise is one that needs constant nurturing.
People Who Need Love
It’s hard to put into words how rewarding it is to do something special for someone, especially if that someone is really in need. You get such a warm feeling of delight and satisfaction inside when you see the joy on someone’s face or when you know inside that person was so deserving of something special.
Think what you might be able to do for someone special from these groups:
- Shelters for Women & Children (ie: Adsum House & Phoenix House)
- Anti-Violence group: L.O.V.E
- Orphanages or Foster Homes
