Feeling the Love for Valentine's Day
Indeed there are so many great causes and organizations to choose from. Pick your favorite one and support it through money, time or by buying some of the wears they have to sell to raise funds for their organization.
Here are a few relevant ones for Valentine’s Day:
- Cards (Platypus eCards): The hottest new thing around… or is it the coolest since this Canadian NFP sends their profits to carbon-footprint-reducing endeavours. Clever cards your loved ones will enjoy! (www.platypus-cards.com)
- Chocolate Event Tickets (“A Chocolate Affair”): A delectable chocolate-based community event in support of elderly living in Halifax and benefiting the Northwood Foundation. If you’ve never been, it is a must! Event is usually held in the fall. (Call 454-3378 for tickets.)

- Poems for L.O.V.E.: L.O.V.E. is a Halifax-based Anti-Violence Association. Their artistic organizers have been writing custom, on-site poems for your loved ones in return for a donation. (Farmer’s Market, near Valentine’s Day)
