3) Winds of Change
Wind has long been associated with change… change in weather, change in direction, change in paradigm…
It always seems to take the New Year to prompt drastic, intentional changes in people. Workout center membership sales are up; gyms are bustling with people breaking in their shiny new running shoes; and in general, people are starting new things (or continuing old ones) that they hope to call ‘habits’ that last the whole year through… well at least the whole next month…
That’s where the title for the first of our seasonal themes came from: “Winds of Change” (our philosophical proposal). From a cooling summer breeze before the onset of fall, to the famed welcomed warm Santa Ana’s in southern California, to the swirling welling up of a storm, wind has long been associated with change… change in weather, change in direction, change in paradigm…
As we move further on into the New Year, some changes will stick. And some won’t. It may be you’ll realize you’ve bitten off more than you can chew with your proposed changes, or, that you haven’t challenged yourself enough.
Regardless, it’s interesting to note that many New Year’s changes, or resolutions, are associated with health, health for people, like eating, sleeping, and often exercise. Nowadays though, it’s hard not to also consider changes to improve the health of the planet.
“Winds of Change” looks at different ways to do just that, help with the health of the planet in a resolved new way, and specifically, what we might be able to achieve with the actual power of wind. So harness ‘Winds of Change” for yourself, and for the planet, now, and throughout the year.
