2) Greener Summer is Funner
Ok all you grammar grouches, “funner” is not a word, but it rhymes, it’s fun, school is out, and having fun is the goal in summer, right? Just because you want to go green, doesn’t mean you have to give up all the fun in everything.
Have you strolled the waterfront lately with your loved ones to take in all the fabulous local restaurants, shops, festivals and the Maritime Museum? What about planning a scavenger hunt through the woods of our local walking trails? Have you sailed the Blue Nose or had a pirate adventure in the harbour, or even climbed through the boat park? When’s the last time you sat around a campfire and slept under the stars? Did you plant a garden? Have you biked the Cabot Trail yet? Or have you ever left your car at home and taken your kids on the bus or ferry to get somewhere? They’ll talk about “your trip” for days as if you went on vacation!
There are so many “greener” things to do that are so much “funner” than making silly rhymes about how much fun we can have while being green. So get out there! Get mean about being green and see how much fun you can have making friends with Mother Earth this summer!
