Spring Health, Naturally
We’re not ones to jump on band wagons and plug the latest trendy brand. But if you don’t know about the Neti Pot yet, and you are an allergy sufferer, you may be about to have a life altering experience of sinus rinsing.
- Sinus Rinsing: What?
WhatNeilMed® Pharmceuticals (http://www.neilmed.com/can/index.php), like other companies, create nasal rinses. These provide a reasonably un-intrusive, benign and naturally effective way to remove many of the allergens in your nasal passages that cause allergic reactions. - Sinus Rinsing: Mechanisms
Luckily, there’s a nasal wash delivery mechanism to suit all types of personalities:
- Nasal Wash: the slower, less physical approach, pouring the rinse through your nose (ie: the Oprah-famed NetiPot)
- Nasal Rinse: the more quick-and-dirty, but slightly assaulting approach
- Nasal Mist: milder, gentler approach, even available for children
If you’ve ever gone surfing, you probably wonder whether the concept of a saline based nasal rinse originated from a surfer who’d been through the “washing machine” one too many times. Whether you’ve surfed or not, surely you can imagine what it might be like to have your nasal cavity rinsed out with salt water if you hang ten too close to the edge and fall overboard.
Ok, so our “devised by the surfers theory” is not a scientifically proven fact about the origin of nasal rinses. But it gives you the idea. And probably furthers the point that this really is a basically benign, PH balanced approach to rinsing out the allergens that might be helpful for you in your day-to-day-battle with seasonal or other allergies, nasal dryness or even the common cold. And hopefully will leave you hailing in victory!
