Food Philosophies by Lil MacPherson
This "new" movement of buying local is not just a nice to do. It’s a "have to do ".
FACT- Between 2001 and 2006 Canada lost a farm every 2.5 hours. Wow! We cannot let this continue! We need to pick up the speed in creating a new food system here… now.
I recently spent 3 days being trained with Al Gore, David Suzuki, and world climate experts. As wonderful an experience as it was, I left with an even more urgent feeling that we need to prepare for uncertain times ahead. And yes, FOOD PLAYS A BIG ROLE!
In supporting our local and organic farmers the benefits are just so amazing!
- better economy
- cleaner soils
- cleaner rivers, oceans, lakes
- cleaner air
- fresher food!! (save on emissions too )
- food security
- more local jobs
- healthy, safe foods for our kids
- the list goes on..........
Sounds good to me!! See you at our new location soon!
