Green Spring Clean
Living intentionally isn’t the only way to get rid of the cob-webs in your mind. Physically getting rid of items you don’t need or use is an ideal way to do so as well.
Ask yourself: “Do I use this? Will I ever? Can someone else?”. Answering truthfully can enable us to go through a “Grand Derangement” of sorts: the big purge. Free yourself of items you don’t need. De-clutter your everyday life. And if possible, recycle items by passing them on to people or organizations deserving of them like the community groups that recycle below.
And remember the grumbling you did when you were stuck inside doing the big spring purge the next time you’re shopping. And maybe think twice about whether you really need something. A concept often referred to as “pre-cycling”. And you thought Reduce was the most important part of the recycling. Try pre-cycling first with some on-line helpful hints from www.halifax.ca/wrms/precycling.html.
