Join CRUSISIS Sustainable Living for a family-friendly afternoon celebrating Mother Earth on the Saturday after of Earth Day! (Sat. Apr. 24^th from 1-4pm at 5500 Inglis St.)

Be sure to remember to bring your mugs/ water canteens!

Afternoon Activities

The CRUSISIS Eco Family Event (Sat. Apr. 24^th) promises to entertain, educate and inspire people of all ages with:

• Puppet Show “Eddie’s Litterless Road Tour” (Clean NS)
• "Waste Disposal" sorting games & races;
• Recycling story-time & activity sheets;
• Compost display & ‘green’ birthday tips;
• Eco-activist educational exhibits & give-aways;
• Sustainable snacks & vendor tables;
• Low-impact outdoor fitness class (10-20 mins. by Outdoor Fitness)
• “Eco-local” gifts raffle fundraiser in support of a local eco-charity (NS Nature Trust)
• Door Prizes: Saltscapes East Coast Expo tickets & magazine subscription, and  a goodies basket from Gourmandise Avenue
•  “Drop & Swap” Corner – bring gently used baby & children items (remaining items to Adsum House)

Puppet Show @ 3:15pm (Closing Finale!)

Your special chance to see a special out of school showing of the highly sough-after “Eddie’s Litterless Road Tour” (a program of Clean NS that tours P-3 schools around Nova Scotia), a fun, interactive presentation in a special outside of school showing in celebration of Earth Day.

“Drop & Swap” Corner (for baby & children items)

A “Drop & Swap” corner where you can drop off gently used clothing and “gear” (toys, bottles, baby carriers, etc…) for babies & children, and pick some up to take with you with help support our ‘Reducing’ and ‘Recycling’ goals for Earth Day weekend.  Left-over items will be donated to Adsum House for Women and Children at the end of the event.

The event is opened to the public and ALL attendees will have a chance to receive FREE give-aways and win the door prizes including 2 tickets to Saltscapes East Coast Expo and a 1-yr magazine subscription, as well as a gift basket from Gourmandise Avenue.  A door fee of $3/person & $5/family will be collected to help fund and continue to develop CRUSISIS Sustainable Living’s free services.  With an ideal indoor/outdoor venue, including large treed and fenced-in playground at 5500 Inglis St., the event will take place RAIN or SHINE!
